(Baohatinh.vn) - Prolonged heavy rains have caused landslides and localized flooding in some mountainous areas of Ha Tinh, isolating many residential areas. Local authorities have been actively implementing response solutions to ensure people's safety.

Heavy rain from the evening of August 29 to August 30 caused landslides on some hillsides in Thanh Son village (Mai Hoa commune), obstructing traffic.

To ensure the safety of the people, local authorities have arranged for forces to be on duty and posted signs prohibiting traffic.

Warning signs have also been posted at vulnerable locations prone to landslides in Thanh Son village (Mai Hoa commune) so that people can proactively avoid risks.

Mr. Le Thanh Nghi - Secretary of the Mai Hoa Commune Party Committee informed: "The prolonged heavy rain caused landslides on some hillsides in the area, hindering traffic as well as the safety of people living nearby. The locality has directed forces to urgently clear fallen trees, put up warning signs and be on duty regularly to ensure safety."

A landslide on the hillside caused a large amount of rock and soil to fall near the house of Mr. Nguyen Duy Dung in village 4 (Mai Hoa commune).

In Phuc Trach commune, as of the afternoon of August 30, although the rain gradually decreased, the water continued to rise rapidly, causing flooding and isolation in Kim Son village, Phu Le village, Tan Dua village (old Huong Trach), Rao Tre village, village 1 (old Huong Lien), village 6 (old Phuc Trach)... Also in Phuc Trach, more than 25 hectares of rice and more than 50 hectares of grapefruit were flooded. Currently, the authorities are trying to help people harvest grapefruit to "escape" the flood.

Regardless of hardships and difficulties, the commune police, militia, local forces in the hamlets and officials of Phuc Trach commune supported people in harvesting grapefruit, minimizing damage in the context of heavy rains and floods.

In Huong Do commune, the water rose rapidly, causing many roads, crops and orchards to be submerged. The forces quickly evacuated 20 households to safe places; security guards were stationed at deeply flooded areas to warn people.
