Faced with that situation, the Huong Xuan commune government closely followed the area, directed the police, military and village forces to proactively evacuate 21 households with 71 people in Thuan Hoa village, an area at risk of landslides, to high buildings to take shelter and ensure safety.

At the same time, warning signs and barriers were set up at locations at high risk of landslides and flooding. People were also informed about proactive measures to respond to storm No. 6 and floods. In addition, authorities also supported people in raising furniture and belongings to minimize property damage.

In Huong Khe commune, on the morning of August 30, heavy rain and rapidly rising floodwaters caused many main roads and village roads in residential areas to be deeply flooded, causing local isolation. The Ho Chi Minh Highway section through the central area of Huong Khe commune was also flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to travel.

Currently, local authorities have assigned functional forces to closely monitor the area, grasp the situation to promptly have support plans and warn people when flood waters rise rapidly.

To proactively respond to heavy rain, since the morning of August 29, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant has operated spillway to regulate water, increasing flood prevention capacity for the plant area. However, from the night of August 29 to the morning of August 30, the plant area and downstream areas experienced very heavy rain, causing the water flow into the plant's reservoir to increase rapidly.

Therefore, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant has increased the spillway discharge to about 682m3 /s and is monitoring the weather to continue to discharge appropriately, ensuring safety for the project and downstream areas. Meanwhile, Ke Go Lake and some other reservoirs in the area are also regulating the spillway discharge.
