Police are verifying information that a 5th grade girl in Ha Tinh has many bruises on her body, suspected of being abused by her stepfather.

On October 19, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a leader of the People's Committee of Co Dam commune ( Ha Tinh ) said that the commune police are verifying information that a 5th grade girl in the area was being abused by her stepfather.

"The child is in the hospital. This afternoon, some local organizations also came to visit and encourage the child" - said the leader of Co Dam commune.

On the same afternoon, a Facebook account shared information that a 5th grade girl at Co Dam Primary School (Ha Tinh province) had to be hospitalized at the old Vinh City Hospital ( Nghe An province) suspected of being beaten by her stepfather.

The article included pictures of the little girl who was beaten and bruised in many places on her body. In particular, there was a wound on her head that had to be bandaged with gauze.

The published article has attracted public attention, many people seeing the image of the little girl with bruises on her body were extremely upset.

According to the investigation, the child suspected of being abused is HTNL, a 5th grade student at Co Dam Primary School. The person suspected of abusing the child is his stepfather.

The cause of the incident is currently being investigated.
