Kinhtedothi - On December 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the National Assembly delegation of Can Tho City had a meeting with voters of Co Do district after the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the meeting, the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho city announced the results of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly and some activities of the National Assembly Delegation at the 8th Session.

At the meeting, voters raised a number of proposals and recommendations related to investment and construction of highways and railways; development of industrial parks (VSIP Vinh Thanh industrial park), implementation of the project of the Center for linking production and processing of agricultural products; policies on vocational training, creating conditions for shifting labor from agriculture to industry and services; implementation of the Project on sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region...
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy at meeting voters in Co Do district - the proud place where the Annam Communist Party cell was established in 1929 - the first Party organization in Can Tho.
The Prime Minister discussed some more main contents about the highlights of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly; the summary of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient"; direction and administration work, the socio-economic situation in the first 11 months of 2024 and tasks and solutions for the coming time.
Regarding the summary of Resolution 18, the Prime Minister said that the direction of the Central Committee, General Secretary To Lam, the Government and the Prime Minister is to focus on and resolutely continue to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined, operate effectively and efficiently, reduce staffing levels associated with restructuring, improving the quality and effectively using the contingent of cadres, civil servants and public employees, and at the same time have policies to ensure the legitimate and legal interests of cadres, civil servants and public employees.
The Prime Minister hopes that people will continue to strongly support the major policies and guidelines of the Party and State, including the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, creating high unity within the Party and among the people for implementation.
On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister acknowledged, highly appreciated and congratulated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Can Tho in the past time, actively contributing to the overall achievements of the whole country.
The Prime Minister asked Can Tho to continue promoting the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement with the support of the Central Government; strive for higher growth, focusing on a number of key tasks such as completing the Can Tho Oncology Hospital Project and training human resources...
Regarding the voters' proposals and recommendations, in addition to the feedback from leaders of ministries, branches and localities, the Prime Minister responded to some specific issues and said that the Government will continue to direct the implementation of major projects on rapid and sustainable development of the Mekong Delta, such as projects to prevent landslides, subsidence and saltwater intrusion; the project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice; human resource training; implementation of the Project of the Center for Linking Agricultural Production and Processing; implementation of major projects on developing transport infrastructure, including highways, airports, large seaports, inland waterways and railways.
Regarding railways, the Prime Minister said that along with the North-South high-speed railway project from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, the Government and agencies are researching to deploy the Ho Chi Minh City-Can Tho railway line and extending it all the way down to Ca Mau.
The Prime Minister emphasized that, along with the Central Government's policies and guidelines and the participation of ministries and branches, localities need to be more active and proactive, promote more strongly the spirit of self-reliance and listen to people's opinions to implement with the highest results the above-mentioned tasks and tasks, meeting the expectations of compatriots and voters on the development of Can Tho City, the Mekong Delta and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
On the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered incense at the An Nam Communist Party Cell Relic Site - a national historical site. Here, the Prime Minister and delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate revolutionary predecessors, heroes, martyrs and planted memorial trees at the Relic Site.
The Annam Communist Party is one of three communist organizations that were the predecessors of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Of which, the Annam Communist Party of the Red Flag was established on November 10, 1929, in a hut across from the rice barn of the Co Do plantation, now in Co Do town, Co Do district, Can Tho city. This was the first Party organization in Can Tho.
