The most recent incident occurred on November 11, when entering La Gi estuary, fishing boat BTh-80088-TS sank due to silting up of the estuary and large waves.
According to the People's Committee of La Gi Ward, in recent times, La Gi seaport has been silted up, making it difficult for boats to enter and exit. Along with that, there is a high possibility of boats running aground if they do not follow the correct route.
Therefore, on November 11, the People's Committee of La Gi ward issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Lam Dong province to pay attention and consider directing the provincial departments, branches, and the Provincial Fishing Port Management Board to promptly implement the project to dredge the La Gi estuary in Phuoc Hoi ward.
The purpose is to facilitate fishing vessels to enter and exit the seaport safely; contribute to reducing fishing vessel accidents and improving production efficiency, improving the economic life of the people.

Regarding the situation of fishing boats sinking at sea, according to the latest information from the authorities, at around 4:00 p.m. on November 11, at Ba Dang estuary, Tan Hai commune, big waves caused two more fishing boats to be damaged and sink.
Authorities and local people worked together to pull two fishing boats ashore.

Thus, on November 11 alone, in Lam Dong province, 8 boats sank due to big waves and strong winds. Of which, in village 14, Lien Huong commune, 4 boats sank and capsized; at La Gi fishing port, 2 boats were sunk by waves while moving into the port and 2 boats sank in Tan Hai commune.
Fortunately, in the shipwrecks and accidents, the fishermen on board were all safe, with no casualties.
