Recently, Chu Lai Port has completed the installation and put into use the system for monitoring ships arriving at the port and the weather. This is a condition for the port to receive and operate large-capacity ships; at the same time, manage and monitor the entire process of ships arriving at the port, ensuring safe and fast operations.
The system operates with two main modules: the BAS (Berthing Aid System) ship arrival speed measurement system and meteorological monitoring equipment. Accordingly, data on ship arrival speed, distance between ship and berth (by laser sensor); important weather and hydrological parameters such as: wind direction, temperature, humidity, water level, waves... are provided continuously and visually. The deployment of ship arrival monitoring takes place regularly, while meteorological monitoring is also carried out 4 times/day.
Putting into operation the monitoring system helps the port increase efficiency and accuracy in the process of navigating large-tonnage ships and boats in and out; thereby, ensuring the safety of the wharf structure, improving the capacity to receive and exploit goods when the frequency of international ships arriving at the port is increasing.
In the coming time, Chu Lai port will continue to promote digital transformation, deploy ePort electronic port software, customs clearance, electronic payment... and apply PL - COS software (General Cargo Port Operation) to create convenience for customers in the transaction process, update the status of actual ship and cargo data, save time, costs... towards the goal of forming a seaport technology ecosystem.
