Floods on the Ba River, Kon River and Krong Ana River are rising rapidly . Some stations recorded particularly noteworthy water levels: Ba River at Cung Son obtain 35.92m , higher than alarm level 3 1.42m ; at Phu Lam reached 3.94m , exceeding alarm level 3: 0.24m ; Kon River at Thach Hoa has reached the level alarm 3 ; Thu Bon River at Cau Lau exceed alert 2: 0.22m ; Tra Khuc River only under alert level 2: 0.04m and continue up ; Krong Ana River in Giang Son exceed alert 2: 0.02m .
Many other rivers from Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam , Quang Ngai, Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa are also fluctuating at alert levels 1-3, including Dinh River (Khanh Hoa) which is above alert level 3.
“ In the face of these dangerous developments, at 9am this morning, The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued level 4 disaster risk warning for Eastern region of Dak Lak province . This is the warning level. especially serious , given when the area meets dangerous combination of: major floods, flash floods and landslides , capable of causing great damage to life, property and infrastructure, " Mr. Dai said.
National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts report, in the next 12 hours, Flood on Ba River at Phu Lam station continue up and above BĐ3 (at the historical flood level in 1993: 5.21m) and Kon River continues to rise and remains above alert level 3; flood on Krong Ana River continues to increase; flood on Thu Bon River and Tra Khuc River remains at alert level 1-2.
In the next 24 hours, flood levels on major rivers are likely to remain at a very high level, while widespread flooding will occur in provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa.
“ Currently, the risk flash floods on small streams and rivers landslides on the slopes in the Central and Central Highlands are at the level very high . Many residential areas, especially low-lying areas, downstream areas of reservoirs and riverside areas, are likely to be deeply flooded in the coming hours. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that people limit their movement through deeply flooded areas, overflow areas, and landslide-prone slopes; proactively evacuate dangerous areas as requested by local authorities. The next bulletins will be continuously updated, especially when there are changes in the operation and regulation of upstream reservoirs, ” Mr. Dai emphasized.
