Flash flood and landslide warning in Thanh Hoa and 5 provinces and cities

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many communes and wards in Thanh Hoa province and the provinces of Phu Tho, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Hue city.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from 8:00 p.m. on August 16 to 8:00 a.m. on August 17, the provinces of Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh , Quang Tri and Hue City had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. Of which, the rainfall measured in Mai Lam (Thanh Hoa) was 99.4 mm.

Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached saturation.

In the next 3-6 hours, these areas will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An , Ha Tinh from 30-60mm, some places over 100mm; Phu Tho, Quang Tri and Hue City from 20-40mm, some places over 70mm.

Warning in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many communes and wards.

In Thanh Hoa province alone, 59 communes and wards are at risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides, including: Hoa Quy, Mau Lam, Nhu Thanh, Nong Cong, Tan Ninh, Trung Chinh, Xuan Binh, Xuan Thai, Yen Tho, An Nong, Bien Thuong, Cong Chinh, Dinh Hoa, Dinh Tan, Ha Long, Hop Tien, Kien Tho, Kim Tan, Lam Son, Luan Thanh, Luong Son, Minh Son, Ngoc Trao, Nhu Xuan, Quy Loc, Sao Vang, Tan Thanh, Tay Do, Thach Binh, Thang Loc, Thanh Ky, Thanh Phong, Thanh Quan, Thieu Hoa, Thieu Tien, Thieu Toan, Thieu Trung, Tho Binh, Tho Lap, Tho Long, Tho Ngoc, Tho Phu, Tho Xuan, Thuong Ninh, Thuong Xuan, Trieu Son, Truong Lam, Van Du, Van Xuan, Vinh Loc, Xuan Chinh, Xuan Du, Xuan Hoa, Xuan Lap, Xuan Tin, Yen Dinh, Yen Ninh, Yen Phu, Yen Truong.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.
