Accordingly, in a document sent to the Social Insurance of provinces and centrally run cities; departments, branches and sectors of Hanoi city; Hanoi City Police; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; employers in Hanoi; social insurance and health insurance collection service organizations, Deputy Director of Social Insurance Region I Nguyen Cong Dinh said: Recently, Social Insurance Region I received information from a number of leaders of district, county and inter-district Social Insurance, people and workers in the city about some subjects impersonating Social Insurance agency officers calling to request citizen identification cards (CCCD), personal information to update on the VssID - Social Insurance Number application or integrating health insurance cards into CCCD; thereby aiming to appropriate deposits in the bank accounts of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance.
In order to ensure the confidentiality of personal information of workers and people, and to avoid being exploited and scammed by bad guys, Social Insurance of Region I respectfully requests that units coordinate to inform workers and people in the area of the following contents:
1. Social Insurance of Region I and Social Insurance of districts, counties, and inter-districts currently do not have a policy of calling, texting to make friends via Zalo application or sending links, QR codes to support, request participants, beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance policies to provide ID cards, personal information to update on VssID application - Social Insurance number or integrate health insurance cards into ID cards.
When there is a need to update or adjust personal information, the unit, participant, or beneficiary of social insurance and health insurance policies should directly contact the Social Insurance of Region I, Social Insurance of districts, towns, and cities for support and can be implemented on the National Public Service Portal, the Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal, and on the VssID - Social Insurance Digital application. Transactions and interactions between participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance policies with the Social Insurance agency through the above official channels are free of charge.
2. To avoid being taken advantage of and scammed, workers and citizens need to regularly update information on social insurance and health insurance policies and laws through official channels of the social insurance industry; follow announcements from authorities about fraud methods and tricks on mass media; research and check carefully before making transactions online (do not make friends on Zalo, do not click on strange links or provide OTP codes, personal passwords, etc.).
