Warning about the trick of impersonating Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Security agency to commit fraud

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Recently, the Social Insurance Agency of Thanh Hoa province has received some information from people who have been approached by scammers with information related to social insurance and health insurance policies. People need to be especially vigilant and contact the official channels of the Social Insurance to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys.

Theo phản ánh, các đối tượng đã sử dụng các số điện thoại: 0904.038.115; 0994.311.220; 0936.417.600; 0994.311.201... và tự xưng là cán bộ đang công tác tại BHXH tỉnh Thanh Hóa , yêu cầu người dân lên cơ quan BHXH để cập nhật, bổ sung thông tin cá nhân vào thẻ BHYT, đồng bộ dữ liệu CCCD và cập nhật thông tin trên ứng dụng VssID - BHXH số.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance recommends that people raise their vigilance: When you see a strange number calling claiming to be a Social Insurance officer, do not answer the phone and absolutely do not follow the subject's instructions.

Specifically: Do not add Zalo friends, do not click on strange links or provide OTP codes or personal passwords to strangers to avoid being taken advantage of or scammed.

When detecting suspicious signs, people are requested to immediately report to local police or social insurance agencies for timely support.

This is not the first time scammers have appeared. Previously, Vietnam Social Security has issued many warnings about impersonating agencies, officials and employees of social security agencies to defraud people. At the same time, it has sent documents requesting relevant authorities to promptly prevent and handle organizations and individuals with violations and widely inform people and employees.

Social Insurance recommends that people should be more vigilant when carrying out administrative procedures on social insurance and health insurance to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys. In addition, people also need to improve their knowledge of laws and policies on social insurance, unemployment insurance and health insurance; and regularly monitor announcements from authorities about criminal methods and scams on mass media.
