Sour fish soup is a typical Vietnamese dish, sour, spicy, sweet. The dish combines ingredients such as tamarind, pineapple, tomato, bean sprouts and vegetables with catfish, snakehead fish or salmon. Sour fish soup is often seasoned with coriander (mị ây), om (ngọ) and eaten with rice. The dish is rated 4.3 out of 5 stars.

Canh chua ngot is another version of canh chua ca, rated 3.8 out of 5 stars by international diners, and is introduced as "a popular Vietnamese soup" in the Mekong Delta. The dish has a sour, sweet, and salty taste. Ingredients include snakehead fish, catfish, basa fish, eel or shrimp, tomatoes, okra, pineapple, tamarind, bean sprouts and herbs served with vermicelli or rice. The dish is highly appreciated for its "nutritious value, health benefits and short cooking time" and has become "a quintessential Vietnamese dish" in the eyes of international tourists.

Coming in at number 53 is fish hotpot cooked with water mimosa flowers. Although the score has not been announced (the dishes after the top 35 do not announce the number of stars achieved), the dish is still praised by many diners for its delicious aroma and taste. A famous specialty of Dong Thap province during the flood season, the hotpot is made from linh fish, a local freshwater fish, and water mimosa flowers. Water mimosa flowers are often blanched to keep their crispness as well as their rich, fatty taste. The broth consists of coconut water, young tamarind eaten with lotus flowers, water mimosa, and meat broth.

Dishes in the top 10 include Finnish salmon soup, lalakeitto; Scottish cullen skink (smoked haddock, potato and onion soup); Malaysian laksam, assam laksa and Penang laksa; Ecuadorian encebollado fish soup; traditional Honduran fish soup Tapado de pescado; Greek psarosoupa fish soup.

The above list is a suggestion for tourists who are passionate about exploring cuisine to refer to on their upcoming trip. The purpose of the top 57 is to promote delicious local dishes made from fish, arouse pride in traditional dishes and curiosity for diners. The evaluation criteria are based on the number of votes from diners and culinary experts, skilled chefs as well as on the popularity of the dish at the destination, the love of local people, and the delicious and characteristic flavor.
