Defender Cao Pendant Quang Vinh said the Vietnamese team needs to improve its performance in the rematch against Nepal on October 14, within the framework of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

"I am very proud and very happy that the Vietnamese team won. When I arrived, the whole team welcomed me very warmly. I feel very comfortable in this group," defender Cao Pendant Quang Vinh shared before the afternoon training session of October 11 of the Vietnamese team, preparing for the rematch with Nepal.

The Vietnamese team defeated Nepal 3-1 in the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, thereby having 6 points after 3 matches, continuing to chase Malaysia.

"The Nepalese team is strong in defense. They defend very solidly and counterattack quickly. They also tried to play with this strategy in the last match, but we played well, including in defense, so I am very satisfied with the match.

However, we have to play more aggressively when we lose the ball. We all have to put pressure on the player holding the ball. I think that's all, because the rest is fine," Cao Pendant Quang Vinh assessed.

Coach Kim Sang-sik's advice

The player with Vietnamese and French blood also revealed coach Kim Sang-sik's advice at halftime, helping the Vietnamese team defeat Nepal thanks to two goals by Xuan Manh and Van Vi in the second half.

"The coach told us to be patient and expand the field. The Nepal team only had 10 players in the second half, so we needed to be patient and move the ball faster to score. After the match, coach Kim only said briefly "congratulations on the victory". He believes we played well," Cao Pendant Quang Vinh added.

The defender born in 1997 had his second official match in the Vietnamese national team. He joined the national team in June after receiving Vietnamese nationality. After the 0-4 loss to Malaysia on his debut day, Quang Vinh enjoyed the joy of victory.

"I play well with my teammates because the Vietnamese team has many good and intelligent players. They coordinate very well. Everything is fine," Cao Pendant Quang Vinh confided.
