Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed at Roland Garros 2025, faced Damir Dzumhur in the third round. Despite a shaky start when facing two early break threats, Alcaraz kept his composure to successfully neutralize them.

However, the turning point came in set 3 when Dzumhur played explosively and took advantage of his opponent's mistakes to win 6-4. The Bosnian continued to cause trouble in set 4 when he broke early, but Alcaraz fought back, winning 2 breaks in games 6 and 8 to create an overwhelming position.
Despite his best efforts, Dzumhur could not hold the crucial service game. Alcaraz closed out the fourth set 6-4, thereby winning 3-1 to advance to the fourth round of Roland Garros, where he will face American Ben Shelton.
