Many packages are ahead of schedule

Construction started in December 2022. Up to now, package 38, construction and installation of the approach bridge from the beginning of the route to pillars T36-T37 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, has completed more than 70% of the work volume, nearly 2 months ahead of schedule.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoan, Deputy Construction Manager of 620 Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, said that the three construction units, including 620 Joint Stock Company, 479 Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company and Trung Nam EC Company, have coordinated closely, continuously worked overtime, and maintained a stable construction pace even during holidays, thereby significantly shortening the progress.

Package No. 39, the construction of the main bridge, has also been 3 months ahead of schedule since it started in June 2023. Mr. Thai Van Nhat Cuong, Deputy Project Manager of Trung Nam EC Company, said: "According to the plan, the project will not be completed until 2027, but with this progress, it can be handed over at the end of 2026, about 6 months ahead of schedule. We mobilized nearly 300 workers at the construction site to maintain the construction progress."

Phuoc An Bridge, one of the key projects in the Southeast region, has a total investment of nearly 4,900 billion VND. The project is 4,378m long, 6 lanes wide, with a clearance of 55m, allowing ships with a tonnage of up to 30,000 tons to safely pass. The bridge has a main span of 250m.

Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh, Director of the Regional Traffic Project Management Board and the Agricultural Sector (investor) said that up to now, the project has completed more than 60% of the volume, many important items have exceeded the schedule. The more than 4km long access road in Ba Ria-Vung Tau has been completed with asphalt. On the Dong Nai province side, the ground is being cleared, preparing for the next construction phase.

Increase connectivity, ensure progress and safety

Phuoc An Bridge, when completed, will play a key role in the inter-regional transport network. The project will help shorten the journey of transporting goods from the Mekong Delta to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai international port cluster by about 30km, while also connecting conveniently with important expressways such as Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Ben Luc - Long Thanh.

In particular, Phuoc An Bridge will open an additional East-West traffic axis, connecting the international seaport cluster to the inland expressway system, enhancing the ability to transport goods between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta. This is an important foundation for building a synchronous, modern, interconnected and smooth traffic system.

Along with that, Phuoc An Bridge will help reduce the load on National Highway 51 - a route that has been overloaded for many years. The project also creates a close connection between the seaport system, industrial parks and major logistics centers, improving the operational efficiency of seaport cluster No. 4, the largest port group in the country.

To ensure the progress and quality of Phuoc An Bridge construction, the investor has coordinated with the supervision consultant and the contractor to organize the construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams". In 2025, it is expected to install Super T girders for package 38, complete T37 and T40 piers and construct continuous girder spans.

The bid packages were implemented on schedule, ensuring quality and safety, and were inspected and evaluated by the State Acceptance Council as meeting requirements. The investor regularly reviewed, urged and closely coordinated with related units to maintain the progress and quality of the entire project.
