Field survey of Thai frog farming model in tanks
Mr. Huynh Minh Thien (Binh Tri 1 Hamlet, Phu Ngai Tri Commune, Chau Thanh District, Long An Province) raises Thai frogs with economic efficiency, becoming a place for learning experiences for communes and towns in the district.
The demonstration model of Thai frog farming techniques in a tank at Mr. Thien's house has a scale of 50m², the number of frogs raised is 4,000 (80 frogs/m²). Of which, the Provincial Agricultural Service Center supports 50% of the frogs and food, the total actual support cost is 14.7 million VND. After 3 months of raising, the harvested frogs reach a size of 3-5 frogs/kg, the survival rate is 80%, the harvest output is 3,200kg, after deducting costs, there is a profit of 10.5 million VND/model. In parallel with implementing the demonstration model, Mr. Thien's family also invested in raising 4,000 more frogs and applied the technical process instructed by the professional staff, recorded in a diary and achieved efficiency.
Through evaluation, Thai frogs are easy to raise, require little care, suitable for the district's aquaculture conditions; can take advantage of the available area around the house for raising; bring high economic efficiency; suitable for many participants./.
