Actresses Thuy Diem and Trinh Xuan Nhan have hot scenes on Hoang Thai Thanh stage
Hoang Thai Thanh Theater has just reunited with the audience a new version of the play "Hello Sadness" (2014) with the new name "Running to Yesterday" (author: Chau Bich Thuy), directed by young director Huynh Cong Hien (son of director Ai Nhu). Seemingly a romantic love story between two talented artists, the play evokes many painful thoughts about the choices of survival in love, art and fame in today's life.
Immaterial love – a fragile ideal
The story revolves around the singer couple Tu Quynh (Thuy Diem) and musician Thanh Phuong (Ma Ran Do) - artists living in a separate world, without competition, without profit, only music and passion. They are beautiful, famous, and admired, but that beauty does not feed them with food, clothes, rice, and money. Because real life is not a love song, the days of deprivation have made singer Tu Quynh - a woman full of emotions - start to fear. She chose to step out of Thanh Phuong's music sanctuary and run to "yesterday" - where there is doctor Minh (Trinh Xuan Nhan), a loyal fan of hers, ready to give her a prosperous and fulfilling life.

However, Tu Quynh was in conflict with herself, she felt bored and bored in that full house, she did not want to be locked in a gilded cage lacking music and the halo that belonged to her. Then the manager Thanh (Meritorious Artist Thanh Hoi) appeared, she woke up and chose a new direction for herself.
"Running to Yesterday" is a play that raises a series of questions that make the audience face themselves: Is it difficult for people to live with passion? And why can't artists avoid poverty? Can we live with emotions and not need material things in love?

The director Huynh Cong Hien explained the message of the play so that the audience could make their own judgments, and from each person's mature thinking, the play not only talked about the life and emotions of the artist. With the strong support of a talented cast, and the participation of famous faces from cinema and theater, Huynh Cong Hien's play initially attracted attention.
Rejuvenating the cast
It was the appearance of the young cast - who are continuing the passion of Hoang Thai Thanh stage, that the drama attracted the attention of the public. The acting style is still genuine, profound, emotional and not noisy. The actors have the space to laugh and cry with their fate.

The role of Tu Quynh, played by Thuy Diem, is considered a difficult role both psychologically and in terms of inner depth. She portrays a singer facing a state of uncertainty between two extremes in her life: artistic talent and the harsh reality of life.
Actor Ma Ran Do (a student of Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, who he trusted when he brought to the Hoang Thai Thanh stage) played the role of musician Thanh Phuong. Although his dialogue was still not good, his acting had improved a lot.
Actors participating in the play "Running to Yesterday"
Actor Trinh Xuan Nhan as Doctor Minh – brings a sense of torment, between the so-called "love for an idol" and "possession of the person you love". He acts very realistically, very honestly.
Meritorious Artist Kim Tuyen has moved from cinema to acting, and for her, the role of Phu Dung is a very strange discovery . The role brings viewers emotions because of the disadvantages the character endures.
Meritorious Artist Thanh Hoi and artist Ai Nhu are still the pillars of the stage. This time, both of them took the initiative to step back to be the background for the young actors, but the roles of the two artists still left a deep impression.
A sad ending
Author Chau Bich Thuy did not choose to end the story with a full stop. That ambiguous ending is like a quiet echo in the audience's heart. No one knows what will happen to Tu Quynh, and at the end of the play, the audience will have their own "answers". But it is this ambiguity that haunts the audience, because real life is sometimes even harsher.
What remains is that Hoang Thai Thanh stage does not make plays that are easy on the audience. They choose thorny stories, characters with many mysteries and all have emotions and layers of meaning that are not simple. The play "Running to Yesterday" is a proof. A play that is not noisy, not dramatic and thrilling in the way of attracting audiences, but leaves the audience's thoughts hidden deep in their emotions.

And like Tu Quynh's journey - perhaps Hoang Thai Thanh Stage is still persistent with its own unique style, so that each performance season has many new emotions that the audience cannot leave.
