Sprinting, pushing the progress of Dien Chau highway

Contractors are working hard to complete the section from the beginning of the route to the QL46B intersection of the Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot ( Ha Tinh ) expressway project by April 30, 2024, in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister.

These days, the construction site of the QL46B intersection, Dien Chau – Bai Vot Expressway, is bustling with the sound of machinery. Hundreds of workers and many machines and equipment of Hoa Hiep Company Limited are working hard.

Everyone is racing against time, together with other contractors, to bring the section from the beginning of the project (intersection of National Highway 7) to the intersection of National Highway 46B to the finish line on April 30 - to celebrate the great national holiday as directed by the Prime Minister .

“From the beginning, the company has understood that this is a national key project, so it requires strict progress and quality. During the recent Lunar New Year, the construction site was honored to welcome leaders of the Government and the Ministry of Transport to visit, encourage and give lucky money, so everyone is more determined,” said worker Nguyen Van Thang, Hoa Hiep Company.

Not far away, at the construction sites of Xuan Duong bridge, Than Vu tunnel, Than Vu 2 bridge, O O bridge or the project head area, the competitive labor atmosphere is no less.

“Since the construction started, the site has been operating 24/7, without a single hour of machine downtime. The contractor has completed 650/1,131m of concrete pouring for the tunnel lining,” said engineer Vo Son Hai, commander of the North of Than Vu Tunnel, Hoa Hiep Company Limited, adding:

To ensure progress, Hoa Hiep has mobilized 10 construction teams in the tunnel, an increase of 4 teams compared to before. Including 2 teams specializing in waterproofing, 2 teams specializing in steel, and 2 sets of formwork for pouring the tunnel lining; at the same time, teams are constructing underground drainage, electromechanical, and fire protection systems. Outside the tunnel, the operator house and drainage system are also being built.

At Than Vu 2 Bridge, the Truong Son Corps has launched beams and completed pouring concrete for 29/32 spans. As for O O Bridge, the Corps has almost completed construction, with only one last span remaining.

“For Than Vu 2 Bridge in particular, Truong Son 28 is determined to complete the beam placement and concrete pouring of the bridge deck by March 20. After that, it will take about 15 more days to complete the concrete pouring of the bridge deck.

It is expected that by April 20, all work will be basically completed, about 10 days ahead of schedule," said Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Cong Thang, Deputy Director of Enterprise 28.3, Truong Son Branch 28, Truong Son Construction Corporation.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thang, although there is not too much pressure on progress, the unit is still mobilizing more than 100 officers, engineers, and workers. Construction is carried out day and night, in 3 shifts, during the day they set up beams, and at night they focus on spreading steel. Truong Son 28 is maintaining progress, within 1 week (7 days), both placing beams and pouring concrete for 1 span of the bridge. In addition, the mixing station and materials for asphalt concrete paving have also been built, installed and brought to the construction site. According to information from Phuc Thanh Hung Joint Stock Company (project enterprise): Currently, contractors are mobilizing 103 construction teams with 863 machines and equipment, along with nearly 2,000 workers, focusing on the final construction phase, especially the section from the beginning of the route to the QL46B intersection.

The cumulative output to date is 6,249.4/8,595 billion VND, reaching 78.2% of the contract. The project enterprise has also disbursed for the project with a value of more than 5,925 billion VND.

Mr. Truong Duc Lien, Deputy General Director of Phuc Thanh Hung Joint Stock Company said: In the coming time, the company will focus on urging contractors to speed up the project's critical points, such as: Xuan Duong 1, Xuan Duong 2, Than Vu 2 Bridges, Tham Vu Tunnel; earth filling locations within the scope of weak ground treatment; speed up the construction of median strips, anti-glare steel mesh, steel mesh fences, materials for traffic safety systems, etc.

The Dien Chau - Bai Vot section project has a total length of 49.3km, passing through 2 provinces: Nghe An (44.4km), Ha Tinh (4.9km), with a total investment of 11,157 billion VND; construction started on May 22, 2021.

According to the Prime Minister's direction, the section from the beginning of the route to National Highway 46B must be completed by April 30, 2024.

The project is implemented in the form of PPP, by a consortium of investors: Hoa Hiep Company Limited - CIENCO4 Group Joint Stock Company - Nui Hong Investment Company Limited - Truong Son Construction Corporation - VINA2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company; the project enterprise is Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company.
