The boat Mr. X was driving had a broken front and was pulled to shore.
According to initial reports, at dawn the same day, Mr. NPX (39 years old, residing in Dong Thap province) and his brother-in-law left home in two separate boats to set fishing nets on the river in Tan Thanh commune.
While fishing, when moving to a section of the river, Mr. X's boat suddenly collided with a buoy in the middle of the river.
The strong collision caused the bow of the boat to break, Mr. X fell into the water and went missing. Seeing this, his brother-in-law who was with him immediately turned back to search for him, and at the same time called for help from people in the surrounding area.
However, due to the strong river currents and the dark time of the incident, the initial search was fruitless.
Upon receiving the news, local authorities and people quickly arrived at the scene, organized a review, and cordoned off the river area where the incident occurred.
Rescue forces used motorboats, nets and lights to search along both sides of the river, and at the same time notified households living along the river to assist in observation and provide information if they detected any unusual signs.
As of the evening of October 13, the search was still underway, but there were still no clues about Mr. X's whereabouts. Relatives have now expanded the search area.
Authorities are verifying and investigating the cause of the incident, and continuing to search the river section where Mr. X. was reported missing./.
