The victim was taken to the emergency room in critical condition.
The victim was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Khoa (born in 1990, residing in Nhon Tri 1 residential area, Tan An ward, Tay Ninh province).
According to initial information, at around 10 a.m. on October 12, while Mr. Khoa was removing scrap iron poles, he was suddenly electrocuted, causing him to fall from scaffolding about 4 meters high onto the concrete ground.
The electric shock and the hard fall caused Mr. Khoa to suffer multiple injuries and severe burns. Immediately afterward, local residents and relatives quickly took the victim to Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) for emergency treatment.
Doctors diagnosed Khoa with a fractured skull, ruptured blood vessels in the brain, cerebrospinal fluid accumulation, and severe electrical burns, with a very poor prognosis.
Khoa's family is currently facing financial difficulties. The victim's father, Mr. Nguyen Van Sang (born in 1957), said that the hospital requested emergency surgery costing over 100 million VND, but the family cannot afford it.
"My family doesn't own any land, and all the living expenses for seven people (Khoa's three children are still young) depend on Khoa's daily wages from odd jobs and scrap metal sales," Mr. Sang said, his voice choked with emotion.
Given the tragic circumstances, the Tan An Ward People's Committee has confirmed the difficult circumstances of Mr. Khoa's family to add to his medical records.
Currently, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Khoa is still receiving intensive treatment at Cho Ray Hospital.
