(HBĐT) - On June 1, Agribank Insurance Hanoi (ABIC Hanoi) coordinated with Agribank Kim Boi district to organize a ceremony to pay insurance benefits for Account Security to customer Bui Thi Hong Tham, Xuan Thuy commune (Kim Boi). This is a new type of insurance implemented by ABIC Hanoi when customers are defrauded of money in their Agribank accounts.

Accordingly, while using social networks, Ms. Bui Thi Hong Tham was scammed by a person impersonating her and asking her to transfer money to a third party's account. Because of trust, Ms. Tham made 2 transfers from Agribank, 1 for 1.68 million VND and 1 for 9 million VND. After making the transfer, Ms. Tham discovered that she had been scammed and reported it to Xuan Thuy Commune Police. Ms. Tham was also unable to contact the scammer. Because she had participated in Account Security Insurance, Ms. Tham reported it to Agribank Insurance.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, ABIC Hanoi conducted verification and compensation procedures. According to the Account Security insurance rules, after deducting the deductible amount, Ms. Bui Thi Hong Tham was paid 10,104 million VND.
Also at the payment ceremony, representatives of Agribank Kim Boi district and ABIC Hanoi warned customers about fraud so that customers can have safe transactions.
It is known that the Account Security insurance product is insured by ABIC and has been on sale since March 2023. In the province, there are currently more than 500 customers voluntarily participating.
