Comrade Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister emphasized at the 27th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam News Agency Party Committee, term 2025-2030, which took place this morning, July 17, in Hanoi .
National news agency information strategy
Attending the Congress this morning were 175 delegates, representing nearly 1,040 party members from 34 party organizations under the Party Committee.
The Congress takes place at a time of special historical significance, when the entire Party, people and army join hands to bring the country into a new era of development. With the motto of Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development, the Congress is a broad political activity, demonstrating the determination to build a clean and strong Party Committee of VNA, innovate and create, and successfully carry out the tasks of a national news agency in the new era.
Right from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of VNA issued Resolution No. 01 on "Maintaining core values, continuing to innovate, and effectively performing strategic information tasks in the new situation." Party committees and organizations at all levels have actively and effectively implemented this, achieving outstanding results.
The Party Committee and the Board of Directors of VNA have demonstrated their leadership and direction, decisively, promptly and consistently, creating a driving force to promote the entire industry to innovate thinking and action, quickly receiving consensus and positive response from the staff, Party members, reporters, editors and technicians.
Key news routes are organized systematically and in-depth. Dozens of new information pages and topics have been created. Source information editorial boards focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of information. Press and publishing units strive to innovate information content and form, increase multimedia information types on platforms, and increase the level of information dissemination. The method of organizing information production is constantly improved, both improving the quality of content and modernizing the form of expression.
Party Secretary and General Director of VNA Vu Viet Trang said that VNA has made breakthroughs in digital transformation, launched many attractive multimedia products, strengthened coordination and linkage between units, and widely disseminated official information on modern media platforms.
“Currently, all VNA information units have produced and provided information in the digital environment. VNA focuses on providing source news through multimedia information packages, integrating news and photos; from 2023, videos will be added, aiming for a complete news, photo and video package. Some units have deployed the production of digital content such as videos and podcasts for distribution on digital platforms,” informed General Director Vu Viet Trang.
Over the past 5 years, on average each year, VNA provided 197,440 news articles and 182,820 photos via the Internet service information network to press agencies and organizations at home and abroad.
In the 2025-2030 period, with a vision to 2045, the goal of VNA is to continue to be a highly prestigious national news agency in the region and the world, a source of authentic, accurate, reliable and rich information for the media system and the public at home and abroad, achieving high efficiency in domestic and foreign propaganda and serving the leadership of the Party and the management of the State; having a modern technology platform and an increasingly professional team of reporters and editors; creating a stable source of income.
In particular, the national news agency aims to increase the level of information exploitation to 100% of ministries, branches, provinces and centrally-run cities, spreading to most countries and territories; The potential, scientific, technological and innovation level of VNA reaches advanced levels in a number of important areas (direction, production and distribution of information), becoming one of the leading press organizations in the country and news agencies in the region; Increase income from information products on digital platforms and media services...
Party Secretary and General Director of VNA Vu Viet Trang emphasized that in the new term, Vietnam News Agency will promote and create strong changes in implementing the strategic information tasks of the national news agency; have the capacity to produce and supply standard press products in large quantities and of high quality, fully covering all aspects of political, economic, cultural, social, scientific and technological life...; be an information bank serving the leadership and direction of the Party, the State, research agencies, and the domestic and foreign press and media system; have the capacity to produce information products with wide spread, large scale, professionalism, and modern technology; have the ability to compete domestically and internationally.
VNA elevates its leading position
Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh highly appreciated the serious and thoughtful preparations for the Congress. The political report and documents submitted to the Congress demonstrated the spirit of innovation and collective intelligence, reflecting objectively and comprehensively, affirming the achievements, frankly pointing out the limitations and causes, drawing lessons, and at the same time forecasting the situation and setting out goals, tasks, policies and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, meeting the requirements of construction and development of the Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency in the coming time.
The Deputy Prime Minister assessed that since the beginning of the term, the Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has made many important and outstanding contributions. In particular, Vietnam News Agency has always affirmed its role and position as a state news agency; a strategic and reliable information center of the Party and State, contributing to bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws into life. Each year, VNA provides nearly 200,000 news articles and over 180,000 photos via the Internet service information network.
As a channel providing valuable information and reference reports with analysis, synthesis, assessment and forecasting to effectively serve the work of planning policies, guidelines, leadership, direction and administration of the Party and State, VNA has many innovative methods of organizing information production; the quality and depth of content have been clearly improved, the form of expression has become increasingly modern and attractive, meeting the requirements of the new situation.
“VNA is at the forefront of digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence and smart technology in production and operations, building specialized pages, topics, and multimedia information products integrating news, photos and videos; developing specialized tools for information production and distribution...,” affirmed Mr. Mai Van Chinh.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the key role of VNA on the ideological, information and communication front, contributing to orienting public opinion, strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State; fighting and refuting the wrong arguments of hostile forces, and protecting territorial sovereignty.
In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that the Party building work of VNA has become increasingly methodical, disciplined and substantial; political and ideological education, cadre training, and care for workers' lives have been focused on; the work of arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus in conjunction with streamlining the payroll, restructuring and improving the quality of cadres and civil servants, improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of party organizations and party members has been given attention, implemented resolutely and promptly in accordance with the direction of the Central Committee, directly by the Government Party Committee.
Some key tasks assigned by comrade Mai Van Chinh to the Party Committee of VNA include: Continuing to improve the quality of Party building work to be clean, strong and comprehensive; continuing to affirm and enhance the position of VNA as a national news agency, a strategic and trustworthy information agency of the Party and State;
Promote digital transformation and innovate the operating model in the direction of "multi-platform - multi-media - multi-language - multi-dimensional approach - a common goal of serving the people;" Proactively integrate deeply into the international community, expand cooperation, affirm the position and prestige of VNA , contribute to effectively implementing the Party's foreign policy and the State's foreign policy in the new situation; Build a team of VNA journalists who are truly professional, courageous, creative, humane, culturally profound, people-centered, serving and meeting the public's information needs and tastes better and better.
