The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a national travel conference 2025 with the theme "Synergy - Selecting locations - Acceleration" to find a strategy to promote Vietnam tourism to reach 25 million international visitors by 2025.
The event took place within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair - ITE HCMC 2025 (afternoon of September 5) in Ho Chi Minh City, gathering nearly 300 delegates from management agencies, associations, and travel businesses nationwide.

According to data, in the first 7 months of the year, Vietnam welcomed 12.23 million international visitors, an increase of 22.5% over the same period in 2024.
These results show that Vietnam's tourism industry has made strong recovery steps, creating a solid foundation for growth targets.
At the conference, Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that although the tourism industry is maintaining growth momentum and achieving many positive results, it needs to continue to grow.
Tourism plays a key economic role and promotes the development of other sectors such as transportation, finance, real estate, retail, food and beverage...
Therefore, Mr. Ho An Phong said that with the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors, travel businesses need to strive to achieve the number of visitors, increase revenue, tourist spending, and improve product quality.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky proposed that management agencies need to promote digital transformation.

Participating travel businesses also said that to complete the goal of welcoming 25 million visitors, it is necessary to promote the combined strength of all relevant parties, especially the proactive, creative, and leading role of travel businesses determined to boost tourism growth.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel, proposed that the management agency should promote digital transformation. Currently, the use of paper customer lists is both time-consuming and limits management capabilities.
"Applying an electronic management system will make data transparent and convenient for tracking tours, while helping to improve service quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism," the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel emphasized.
According to a representative of Saigontourist, the immigration procedures at the airport still take 1 - 1.5 hours, causing many tourists to complain, which is also one of the current problems.
