Solemn State Reception for the High-Level Cuban Delegation

(Chinhphu.vn) - Within the framework of the State visit to Vietnam from August 31 to September 2, 2025, at noon on September 1, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam and his wife and President Luong Cuong and his wife co-chaired a solemn State reception to welcome the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and his wife and the high-ranking Cuban delegation.

Warmly welcoming Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Republic of Cuba, and his wife, to return to Vietnam with the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Party and State on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the presence of Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, his wife, and the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Party and State in Vietnam clearly and vividly demonstrated the solidarity, friendship, and comradely and brotherly relationship between the two countries and once again affirmed the support and companionship of the people of the two countries on the path of building and defending each country's Fatherland.

The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam always remembers and is grateful for the solidarity and support that the Cuban people have given to the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense. Vietnam always attaches importance to nurturing and consolidating the special, exemplary relationship that was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro and has been diligently cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries. Vietnam is ready to join the brotherly country of Cuba in making the special friendship between the two countries an everlasting legacy and a great source of strength for the two peoples to enter a new stage of development.

The General Secretary expressed his joy that Vietnamese rice is growing well in the friendly fields in Cuba; was pleased that cooperation projects in the fields of energy and biotechnology between Vietnam and Cuba will have specific results in 2025; was especially happy about the unexpected results of the "65 years of Cuba - Vietnam friendship" program that is spreading among all classes of Vietnamese people; and looked forward to new songs from the songwriting campaign "Vietnam - Cuba forever resonates the song of solidarity and friendship".

In an atmosphere of friendship, the General Secretary expressed his firm belief in the bright future of the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

In his reply, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sent his congratulations to Vietnam in 2025 with many important commemorative events; affirming that mutual political trust and brotherhood between the two countries have created favorable conditions for cooperation in all fields.

Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez emphasized that in 2025, the two sides exchanged high-level visits between the two Parties, the two States and the two National Assemblies, focusing on consolidating the excellent political relationship and bringing that strength to a deeper and more effective comprehensive cooperation.

One year after the historic visit of General Secretary To Lam to Cuba in September 2024, the two sides have achieved practical and concrete results in political exchanges and bilateral cooperation; the extraordinary value of this visit is truly a manifestation of the high priority that both sides give to bilateral relations. The new approach to economic relations and cooperation directs the two countries to improve the efficiency and sustainability of those links, while shaping unprecedented projects in strategic areas such as agro-food production, bio-pharmaceutical industry and renewable energy.
