At noon on July 29, a representative of the Can Thanh Border Guard said that at around 5:30 a.m. the same day, the Can Thanh Border Guard Station sent a working group to the scene of the capsized fishing boat, coordinating with boats operating near the area to salvage the sunken boat. At around 11:30 a.m., the boat was salvaged and safely towed to shore, without causing any oil spill or environmental pollution.

Previously, at 7:00 a.m. on July 27, Mr. Vo Duy Lan, captain of fishing boat SG 2707 TS, and another crew member named Vo Van Trung were on their way from the sea to Can Thanh fishing port, but when they were about 12 nautical miles from the coast of Can Gio, the boat suddenly sank for unknown reasons. Initially, it was suspected that the waves had broken the boat's hull, causing a water leak.
At the time of the incident, there were no vehicles around, Mr. Lan only had time to call for help on the radio. After about 30 minutes, Mr. Do Van Dung's boat, numbered SG 2773 TS, which was fishing nearby, came to bring Mr. Lan and Mr. Trung to shore. The incident did not cause any human casualties, however, the fishing boat SG 2707 TS completely sank.

Immediately after receiving the information, Can Thanh Border Guard Station sent a working group to the scene to coordinate with surrounding vehicles to conduct the salvage. At 11:30 a.m. on July 29, the SG 2707 TS boat was pulled ashore, without causing any oil spill or environmental pollution.
