Specifically, the male student was admitted to 9 American universities at the same time: University of Massachusetts Amherst; The University of Arizona; Arizona State University; The University of Texas at Dallas; Drexel University; Florida State University; University of South Florida; Colby College and Oberlin College.

I decided to choose the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and won the maximum scholarship from this school.

This is one of the famous public universities in the US, with computer science ranked in the top 19/4,000 universities in the US.

Khang said that because he was studying IELTS and SAT at the same time, he initially registered for SAT for about 4 months. After having a foundation, Khang bought materials and studied by himself by copying vocabulary and doing exercises.

For other cultural subjects, Khang divides his study time quite scientifically. For example, he clearly distinguishes which subjects he should study in the morning and which subjects he should study in the afternoon.

"For natural and social subjects, I "study like I play", meaning that outside of class time with teachers, about 2 weeks before the exam, I spend time reviewing a little more carefully to systematize the knowledge one last time.

Of the three subjects math, IT and English, I like IT the most so I spend more time on this subject.

As for English, I mainly study by myself online, not at any outside training center or school," Khang said.

Mainly self-taught

It is known that before choosing the High School for Natural Sciences, Khang passed the IT and English majors of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; and the IT major of the University of Education.

During his 3 years in high school, Khang won second prize in computer programming at the competition for excellent students of specialized high schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta regions, along with several other awards.

Ms. Le Thi Thu, Khang's mother, said that her two children almost all study by themselves and that they are able to do so partly due to their learning talent.

"Outsiders often think we study like bookworms, but that's not the case.

I study more for the subjects I like, but when I don't like them or am tired, I close the book and sleep, play or listen to music. I never force myself," Khang said.

Sharing about his passion for information technology, Khang said that since he was a child, he wanted to become a programmer.

In middle school, my father forbade me from using the phone because he was afraid it would harm my eyes, but when he saw me using the Internet to learn English, he trusted me and from then on "gave the green light" for me to study via computer.

Most computer documents are in English, so foreign language ability is an advantage that helps me a lot in my studies.

Although he could have entered top universities in Vietnam, his dream and meeting and sharing with seniors motivated Khang to study abroad.

On August 28, Khang went to the US to continue his dream of becoming a programmer. Khang said that at first he was quite worried and confused, but he believed that time, friends and relatives would help him firmly make his new choice.
