At noon on May 24, at the exam site of the Gifted High School (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City), a relaxed atmosphere spread after the candidates completed the first two exams: Literature and Non-specialized English.

Coming out of the exam room first, Van Tuan Dung, a student at Nguyen Van Be Secondary School (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), had a bright smile on his face, his face glowing with relief.
"For me, this year's exam was easier than I imagined. Only the English subject was a bit difficult, but I did it all without skipping any questions. I felt very happy and relieved," Dung shared.

Many other candidates also said that the questions focused on core knowledge, without any strange or overly tricky questions. Khanh Vy (Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School, Bien Hoa) commented: "The Literature test was a bit long but not difficult, just stay calm and you can do it. I think I got about 80%."

Outside the school gate, many parents breathed a sigh of relief when they saw their children walking out with bright faces. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dinh smiled brightly: "Seeing my child smile makes me happy. The whole family has been nervous these past few days. No matter what the result is, as long as my child tried his best, that's enough."

Hoang Ha Bang Trang was moved to hug her mother when she realized that she had been waiting for her since early morning. The moment they met again after the exam made both mother and daughter unable to hide their emotions. Trang shared: "When I walked out and saw my mother waiting for me, all the worries in my heart seemed to disappear."

Before that, around 11am, many parents were already present in front of the school gate, waiting for their children. Their faces still showed worry and nervousness.

Traffic at the school gate was affected during the time when students were preparing to leave. Many parents parked their cars waiting for their children on the side of the road, combined with the flow of vehicles passing by, causing local congestion.

Mrs. Hoang Le arrived early, choosing to stand in a high position so her child could easily see her.

Looking at their children's bright smiles after the exam, many parents could not hide their emotions, pride clearly visible in their eyes.

Ms. Hoang Ngoc, an exam supervisor, shared: "In general, this year's students did quite well on the test. In the English subject, a few students skipped the writing part. Notably, in the Literature subject, most of them only wrote on one sheet of paper, while last year most of them wrote on two or more sheets. The atmosphere in the exam room was serious and orderly."

In the afternoon of the same day, the candidates continued to take the non-specialized Mathematics exam, the last subject in the series of 3 compulsory subjects. Tomorrow (May 25), they will take the specialized subjects exam to compete for a place in one of the schools with the highest competition rate in Ho Chi Minh City.
