Successfully installed 100-ton equipment at Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Project

The impeller weighs 110 tons, is a super-heavy equipment, imported from abroad. The installation of the impeller is carried out by contractor Lilama, requiring precise coordination and absolute safety between the parties involved.

According to EVNPMB1, completing the installation of the working wheel is a prerequisite for continuing to install the next important equipment such as the turbine cover, turbine shaft, control ring, turbine guide bearing, etc. This is also a necessary preparation step for the assembly of the rotor of unit 1, expected to be completed in June 2025.

The Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project is invested by EVN; EVNPMB1 is the representative investor for management and operation. The project has a scale of installing 2 units with a total capacity of 480 MW. When put into operation, the plant will add about 500 million kWh of electricity per year to the national power system, contributing to improving the ability to exploit peak capacity, enhancing the safety, stability and operational efficiency of the national power system.

EVN, EVNPMB1 and contractors are working hard to keep up with the schedule, striving to put unit 1 into operation before September 2 and complete the entire project in 2025.
