(Dan Tri) - Despite Asencio receiving an early red card, Real Madrid still won 3-1 against Pachuca (Mexico) in Group H of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the US early on June 23.

After a disappointing draw against Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) in their opening match, Real Madrid were determined to win Group H of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, Pachuca caused many difficulties for Real Madrid.

The Mexican representative played a preemptive attack, surprising the Real Madrid players. In the 7th minute, Asensio pulled the opponent's striker's shirt and received a direct red card, forcing Real Madrid to play with one less player.

Pachuca took advantage of their man advantage to press the field, but their finishing was too inaccurate. Real Madrid was forced to choose a defensive counter-attacking style and wait for the opponent to make a mistake.

In the 35th minute, Real Madrid had a quick counter-attack on the left wing and Guler assisted Bellingham to open the scoring.

Pachuca pressed forward but their combinations were too easy to predict. In the 42nd minute, Real Madrid counterattacked and Guler doubled the gap to 2-0. Real Madrid had a big advantage in the first half thanks to their cunning play.

In the second half, Pachuca stepped up their attacks, but goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois played so well that the Mexican team's strikers were discouraged.

Pachuca continued to pay the price in the 70th minute. Real Madrid attacked very simply with only 3 men but Valverde still scored to increase the score to 3-0.

Pachuca's attacking efforts were also rewarded in the 80th minute, Montiel's shot hit Tchouameni's foot and changed direction, leaving Courtois no time to react, helping the Mexican representative shorten the score to 1-3.

Pachuca scored the first goal and played with excitement in the final minutes. Unfortunately, they could not turn the game around despite having one more player. In the end, Real Madrid won 3-1 against Pachuca and kept their hopes of passing the group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup alive.
