Actively strengthen forest fire prevention and fighting

The Provincial People's Committee has just sent an official dispatch to departments, branches, sectors, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Police, the People's Committees of localities and forest owners in the province requesting them to proactively strengthen forest fire prevention and fighting (PCCCR) according to the recent direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested agencies, units, localities and forest owners to carefully review forces, means, materials and funding for forest fire prevention and control work according to the "4 on-site" motto; organize forces to be on duty 24/24 hours, set up checkpoints, patrols and guards in key areas prone to fires; strengthen inspection of fire use in and near forests, especially slash-and-burn farming activities. When a fire occurs, it is necessary to promptly detect and mobilize fire fighting forces to prevent the fire from spreading; proactively plan evacuation, ensuring the safety of lives and property of people and organizations in the affected area.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee requested the relevant agencies to resolutely investigate and clarify the causes of forest fires, identify violators for strict handling according to regulations; inspect and handle organizations, individuals and forest owners who do not fully implement forest fire prevention and control measures. At the same time, promote propaganda work, raise awareness and responsibility of people in participating in forest protection and forest fire prevention and control.
