Vietnam not only enhances its reputation and position in the international arena, but also makes practical contributions to building a global legal framework, promoting cooperation in information sharing and cross-border crime tracing.

This is the assessment of Dr. Vu Viet Anh, researcher at the Cybercrime Center, Cambridge University (UK), when interviewed by VNA.

According to Dr. Vu Viet Anh, the United Nations' choice of Hanoi as the venue for the signing ceremony of the Convention shows the international community's trust and recognition of Vietnam's efforts and prestige.

In recent years, Vietnam has made many important strides in building a legal framework on cyber security, protecting personal data and cooperating closely with international organizations to combat high-tech crime.

Chairing the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention continues to affirm Vietnam's new position in international relations. From a major participant, Vietnam has become a more active contributor to the formation of international standards and rules.

The signing ceremony not only helps promote the image of Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination with the capacity to organize major events, but also opens up many cooperation opportunities in areas such as digital transformation, cyber security, digital economy , etc.

This is also a concrete step, contributing to the timely and effective implementation of the Politburo 's Resolution on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

To increase the effectiveness of cybercrime prevention and control in Vietnam, Mr. Viet Anh said that it is necessary to continue to prioritize the protection of critical infrastructure such as healthcare, energy, finance, and population data, in addition to developing response and recovery plans after incidents.

Vietnam needs to build a long-term strategy with a clear legal framework to ensure it keeps up with the rapid pace of technological development, as well as continue to raise public awareness through digital safety education...
