The deer continuously grows "golden horns", the owner offered half a billion dong but refused to sell.

The family of Mr. Bui Van Loi (68 years old, residing in residential group 6, Tay Son town, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh ) is very excited because this year his precious deer continues to produce a pair of "huge" antlers, weighing more than 5kg.

"A trader has agreed to buy a pair of antlers for 12.5 million VND/kg. On April 30, they will cut the antlers. My family will earn more than 60 million VND," Mr. Loi said happily.

This is the 5th season, the deer in question has given more antlers than any other.

In the first year, the animal gave a pair of antlers weighing 1.2kg, in the second year the antlers weighed 1.7kg, in the third year the antlers weighed 2.4kg. In 2022, the antlers grew large, weighing 4.8kg and this year they weighed more than 5kg.

Thus, after 5 seasons of care, the deer has brought Mr. Loi's family more than 15kg of velvet, worth more than 150 million VND.

He bought the special deer from a person in Son Kim 2 commune (more than 1km from his house) to raise in 2018, when it was only 4 months old, for 20 million VND.

"Compared to the general level at that time, I bought this 'guy' at the highest price. But it was worth it because it produced such outstanding antlers. Normally, in the first year, other deer only produce a few ounces of antlers, but my deer produced a pair of antlers weighing up to 1.2kg, and in the past two seasons, it has produced such a record amount of antlers," shared the man with 35 years of experience raising deer.

Since producing such an outstanding amount of velvet, the special deer and Mr. Bui Van Loi quickly became famous. In the first season, someone offered to buy the deer for 130 million VND. Recently, an individual also expressed interest in buying the animal for 500 million VND, but Mr. Loi still refused to sell.

"In addition to velvet, this deer can produce many offspring, so I don't want to sell it. This year alone, it has helped produce 20 baby deer. That's worth about 500 million VND," said Mr. Loi.

According to this old farmer, the deer he takes care of and has a diet no different from the others.

Currently, Mr. Loi's family is raising a total of 45 deer, and in the near future 8 baby deer will be born, bringing the total herd to 53.

In 2022, Mr. Loi's family earned nearly 400 million VND from selling deer and antlers. After that, he bought more female deer to increase the herd, so this year the number of deer is higher. It is expected that his family will earn about 600-700 million VND from the deer herd.

Over the years, deer farming has provided the main income and helped change the life of this old farmer's family.
