A restaurant owner in Binh Thuan province contacted and returned VND1 billion that was mistakenly transferred to a bank account by a person in Ho Chi Minh City.

On May 16, Mui Ne Ward Police, Phan Thiet City ( Binh Thuan Province) received a report from Ms. Tran Thi Duyen (born in 1987), owner of a restaurant in Mui Ne Ward, about accidentally receiving 1 billion VND into her bank account due to someone else transferring it by mistake.

With a sense of vigilance, Ms. Duyen went to Mui Ne Ward Police to report the incident; at the same time, asked the authorities to find the person who mistakenly transferred the money to return it.

At the same time, Mui Ne Ward Police also received a report from Mr. Mai Huu Phuc (born in 1988, residing in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) about making a wrong transfer.

According to Mr. Phuc, on the evening of May 15, he made two transfers totaling 1 billion VND to his partner, but unfortunately entered incorrect information, resulting in the money being transferred to the wrong account of Ms. Tran Thi Duyen.

Ms. Tran Thi Duyen and Mr. Mai Huu Phuc went to Mui Ne Ward Police to work related to the mistaken transfer of 1 billion VND.

Immediately after receiving the report, Mui Ne Ward Police quickly verified the information, contacted and invited Ms. Duyen to the office for questioning. During the meeting, Ms. Duyen actively cooperated, showing her goodwill to return the money she mistakenly received.

After verifying that the incident was just a mistake in a bank transaction, with no signs of violating the law, Mui Ne Ward Police assisted the parties to go to the nearest bank to complete the procedure to transfer the amount of 1 billion VND back to Mr. Phuc.

Mr. Mai Huu Phuc expressed his deep gratitude to Ms. Duyen and the quick intervention of Mui Ne Ward Police, helping him receive back the property that was mistakenly transferred to someone else.
