Hanoi Chairman closely directs the work of merging communes and wards

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has issued a notice of the conclusion of the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee at the meeting of the Working Group to direct and guide the work of arranging commune-level administrative units in Hanoi.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh delivered a concluding speech at the meeting of the Working Group to direct and guide the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Hanoi on June 12.

Previously, on June 12, at the headquarters of the Hanoi People's Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh chaired a meeting of 11 Working Groups to direct and guide the work of arranging commune-level administrative units in Hanoi (established under Decision No. 2844/QD-UBND dated June 9, 2025 of the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee).

After listening to the reports of the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Finance, Department of Education and Training, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the opinions of the units attending the meeting, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee concluded and directed as follows:

There is not much time left from now until July 1, 2025 when the new administrative apparatus at the commune level comes into operation, so the working groups need to proactively follow the assigned bases and areas to promptly direct and guide the work of arranging administrative units at the commune level in Hanoi.

The work of receiving citizens and handling administrative procedures for people and businesses is especially important, therefore, the working groups directed and guided 126 communes and wards to ensure adequate infrastructure and equipment for the Office block and the Public Administration Service Center to operate smoothly and without interruption.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh requested the Working Group as well as localities to prioritize serving people and businesses related to resolving administrative procedures.

Assign the Hanoi City Public Administration Service Center to support operations, technology, infrastructure, personnel... to guide 126 new communes and wards in handling administrative procedures for people.

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee shall preside over and coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology to ensure the organization of operation and preparation of technical infrastructure, equipment, and transmission lines to serve the city's online meeting system connecting to 126 new communes and wards as well as to ensure that online information exchange is smooth and uninterrupted. Continue to maintain the current online meeting system until the new online meeting system operates stably and smoothly.

The Department of Finance, the Department of Home Affairs, and the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities shall promptly implement policies and regimes for people with meritorious services and social protection beneficiaries in the city.
