The State Bank of Vietnam said it has reorganized 63 provincial and municipal branches into 15 regional branches to meet the requirements of streamlining the apparatus and improving performance, effectiveness and efficiency. The regional branches have been in operation since March 1.

On April 12, the 13th Party Central Committee issued Resolution of the 11th Conference (No. 60-NQ/TW), accordingly, regarding the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the Central Committee agreed that the number of provincial-level administrative units is 34 provinces and cities.

Accordingly, the State Bank has issued decisions amending and supplementing the establishment decision, regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of 14 regional State Bank branches, ensuring a synchronous, unified and effective operating system, in accordance with the administrative management model of 34 provinces and cities after the merger.
