President Vo Van Thuong suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and relevant agencies promote the humane and meaningful spirit of the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Tri An", continue to expand and promote it more in both quantity and quality in the coming years.
On the afternoon of February 2, the afternoon of December 23, on the threshold of the new spring of Giap Thin 2024, President Vo Van Thuong and Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, along with representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches attended the program "Tet sum vay - Xuan tri than" 2024 and wished a happy new year to workers, laborers and households in difficult circumstances in Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh City.
The program "Tet sum vay - Xuan tri than" takes place every year on the occasion of Lunar New Year, organized by Trade Unions at all levels, to create a joyful, healthy, and warm atmosphere for Trade Union members and workers on the occasion of the New Year, thereby demonstrating the practical care and concern of Trade Union organizations, sectors, and levels for workers and laborers, especially those in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to return home for Tet.

Reporting to the President and the working delegation, the leader of Thu Duc city said that, in addition to economic development, on the occasion of Tet, the city has stepped up measures to take care of the lives of workers, laborers and people in difficult circumstances, and those who cannot return home to celebrate Tet.
Sending New Year greetings to workers and households attending the program, President Vo Van Thuong shared that Ho Chi Minh City is a major economic, cultural, educational, scientific and technological center of the country, and a hub for international exchanges. Since the early years of the renovation period, the City has initiated social security movements and programs to care for disadvantaged people in the locality and surrounding areas, remote and isolated areas.
"Perhaps that is why Ho Chi Minh City is known as a city of affection, a city of love, a city where difficulties in the lives of workers, students and laborers are always taken care of and jointly solved by Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front and organizations," the President expressed.
President Vo Van Thuong also acknowledged that despite many difficulties, Ho Chi Minh City has made great efforts to maintain stable growth, ensure social security, and care for the poor and those in difficult circumstances. This has been given great attention and direction by the Party and State and actively implemented by relevant organizations.
Faced with the difficult situation in the area, where some enterprises only give their workers a few hundred thousand VND per person as a Tet bonus, the President said that in such a difficult situation, with the launch of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Tri An" is an action of joining hands with authorities at all levels to take care of Tet for workers and laborers with the spirit of striving so that every family can have Tet and Tet gifts.
“When Tet comes, many workers cannot return to their hometowns and have to stay in the city during the days when they should be reunited. This is a loss. The leaders of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, and agencies from the central to local levels have taken care of, encouraged, and given gifts so that everyone can have joy when Tet comes,” the President expressed.
Sending a message to workers and laborers on the eve of the New Year of the Dragon, the President hopes that each person and each family will renovate and clean their house, get rid of old things and temporarily forget worries and concerns, and welcome the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024 with good expectations.
