The Fifth Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation - 2025 is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Central Theoretical Council, the Vietnam Journalists Association , the Communist Magazine, the People's Newspaper and Vietnam Television.
Taking place in the context of the country in a period of historical transformation, with many important events, the Fifth Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation has truly become a widespread political activity, creating excitement, confidence, and aspirations of cadres, party members, and people about the bright future of the country.

Speaking at the conclusion of the Contest, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Head of the Contest Steering Committee, emphasized that this year's Contest has a very special meaning. This is the fifth time the Contest has been held, demonstrating its appeal, continuity, and persistence, while marking a new and effective step in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. In the context of preparing and organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party and implementing the Party's strategic policies, this year's Contest is truly a practical activity, contributing to arousing and strengthening patriotism, national pride, and development aspirations in every cadre, party member, and people.
The highlight is the sharp increase in the number of entries this year, with a record number of entries of nearly 542,000, an increase of more than 73,000 entries compared to 2024.
Many localities and units have proactively created high-quality works, both participating in the contest and serving the propaganda and protection of the Party's ideological foundation in the press, media and cyberspace. Many works proposed innovative solutions for the content and methods of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the digital age with high applicability on the digital platform. In particular, this year's Contest had the participation of a number of foreign scholars and politicians such as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Switzerland, a number of leading Marxist research experts from major research institutes in China, officials and lecturers of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration..., showing the increasingly widespread influence and prestige of the Contest.
Acknowledging the results achieved from the Fifth Competition, giving a speech and launching the Sixth Political Contest in 2026, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Competition, emphasized that after 7 years of promulgation, Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" has truly entered life and achieved many positive results.

In the process of implementing the Resolution, units and localities have had many good and creative ways of doing things, including organizing the Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation with many imprints and wide influence. The past 5 years have shown that the Contest is truly a widespread political activity in the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people; an effective and creative way to gather forces and build a "people's heart position" in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia requested that central and local press agencies continue to promote and disseminate the award-winning works to motivate and inspire authors/author groups to participate in the Contest in the following years.
On behalf of the Steering Committee of the Competition, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia launched the 6th Political Competition on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2026.

In addition, the group of authors Massimiliano Ay - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Switzerland; Professor - Doctor Ly Khai Hoan, Institute of Marxist Studies - Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with the work: "Strengthening the construction of socialist rule of law, consolidating the ideological foundation of the ruling Marxist party - China's experience" also won the A prize in this Competition.
Along with 12 A prizes, at the Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded excellent collective prizes to 20 collectives; 23 B prizes, 36 C prizes, 66 consolation prizes to authors, representatives of author groups in 5 categories: Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, Television, Video clips submitted to the Central competition; honored Outstanding Senior Authors and Outstanding Young Authors; 20 promising prizes to authors/author groups who are union members and youths with good quality entries.
