Hue Archdiocese welcomes President Vo Van Thuong

Also visiting were: Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Pham Tat Thang; Party Central Committee member, Vice President, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; leaders of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education; Ministry of Home Affairs ; Government Committee for Religious Affairs; and central agencies, departments and branches.

On the side of Thua Thien Hue province, there were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Truong Luu; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong; Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Chi Tai and agencies, departments and branches in the province.

In his welcoming speech to the delegation of President Vo Van Thuong, Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh, Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese, expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation and President Vo Van Thuong personally. Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh affirmed that the visit of the delegation and President Vo Van Thuong is a great honor for Hue Archdiocese.

In recent times, the President has made consecutive visits to other countries and received many international politicians. This demonstrates the role, position, and positive and great contributions of the President to the country.

The Archdiocese of Hue expressed its gratitude to the Central and local governments for always creating conditions and building solidarity between the Catholic community and the people and local authorities. A peaceful world, a peaceful and happy society is the goal that the Archdiocese of Hue always strives for.

Sharing the joy with the Archdiocese of Hue, President Vo Van Thuong reviewed the general results achieved by the Party and State in the past year. The country is preparing to enter the new year, looking back, although facing many difficulties, many results have been achieved in many fields; becoming a bright spot that not every country can achieve, especially in the fields of defense, security and foreign affairs.

President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that to achieve those results, there were very positive contributions from Catholic compatriots. Catholic compatriots throughout the country; including the Archdiocese of Hue, have always accompanied and actively participated in movements demonstrating solidarity and unanimity of Catholic compatriots and people; caring for people's lives, demonstrating profound humanity.

President Vo Van Thuong informed: Promoting a better life for the people. Over the past time, the Party and State have always consistently promoted freedom of religion, creating the best conditions for Catholics to worship God, love the country and care for the people through favorable mechanisms and policies.

President Vo Van Thuong and the delegation presented flowers to congratulate the Archdiocese of Hue.

During my visit to the Vatican, I personally and the country of Vietnam received many special feelings from Pope Francis. I sent a letter inviting Pope Francis to visit Vietnam. Hopefully, that day will take place in the near future. This is not only the joy of Vietnam, but also of the countries in the region.

President Vo Van Thuong once again affirmed that great solidarity is a precious tradition of the nation, the source of strength of our nation. Therefore, we must unite more; create a stable environment for continuous development. The Archdiocese of Hue continues to have many meaningful and practical activities to contribute to building the homeland and the country to develop more and more.
