National Assembly Chairman: The 10th session will pass 49 laws and decide on personnel work.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that within 40 working days, the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly will pass 53 draft laws and resolutions and consider and decide on personnel work.

On the morning of October 20, the National Assembly opened the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly, the last session of the 2021-2026 National Assembly term.

The largest legislative volume in the history of the National Assembly

Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that at this 10th session, within about 40 days, the National Assembly will review, discuss and decide on a very large volume of work, many of which are of strategic importance.

It is expected that the National Assembly session will consider and pass 53 draft laws and resolutions, including 49 laws. This is the largest volume of legislative work in the history of National Assembly sessions, a vivid demonstration of the spirit of the law being one step ahead, paving the way for innovation, taking the lives and interests of the people as the measure of policy.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, the draft laws cover most important areas, many new issues, and constant changes; promptly institutionalize new policies and resolutions of the Party; focus on removing institutional bottlenecks, especially in the fields of land, investment, planning, construction, environment, energy; and improve the corporate bond market, real estate, etc.

Adjusting the national master plan

In addition, the National Assembly also reviewed the Government's reports on the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, the state budget, and the public investment plan for 2025; the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the 5-year plan for the 2021-2025 period on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and borrowing and repayment of public debt. On that basis, the National Assembly reviewed and decided on the socio-economic development plan and state budget for the next period.

Based on the review and assessment of the implementation results of national target programs for the 2021-2025 period, the National Assembly will review and decide on the investment policy for the National Target Program on new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas by 2030; the National Target Program on modernization, improving the quality of education and training; people's health care, population and development for the 2026-2035 period.

The National Assembly will consider and decide on adjustments to the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period; ratify agreements in the field of foreign affairs at the request of the President; and consider and decide on personnel work within its authority. At the same time, the session will also arrange time for the National Assembly to discuss and contribute opinions on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress...

Sharing with people in localities affected by recent natural disasters, storms, floods and landslides, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the National Assembly requested the Government, localities and sectors to continue focusing resources and providing emergency support to damaged areas, while reviewing and proposing to perfect policies and laws on natural disaster prevention and control, and climate change response, ensuring the country's sustainable development.

"With the spirit of innovation, democracy, discipline, responsibility and efficiency, I request that National Assembly deputies concentrate and make the most of their intelligence and experience, all for the benefit of the Fatherland and the people," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
