(Dan Tri) - On the afternoon of October 20, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a ceremony to welcome Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo to pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 18 to 22.

At the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Hungarian National Assembly Chairman Kover Laszlo paid an official visit to Vietnam from October 18 to 22. The visit took place in the context of many activities and events between the two countries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

This morning (October 20), Mr. Kover Laszlo went to the Monument to the Martyrs on Bac Son Street to offer flowers, then went to the Mausoleum to visit President Ho Chi Minh .

Mr. Kover Laszlo laid a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen Heroes.

This is the second time that Speaker of the National Assembly Kover Laszlo has officially visited Vietnam in his capacity as Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly. The official visit to Vietnam by Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo takes place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025 (February 3, 1950 - February 3, 2025) and follows the official visit to Vietnam by Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife at the end of May 2025.

This visit is expected to create new momentum for parliamentary cooperation, thereby developing the Vietnam - Hungary Comprehensive Partnership more deeply and substantially.

The event is also an opportunity for the two National Assemblies and the two countries to continue to realize the agreements and commitments reached at the leadership level. On that basis, many traditional areas of cooperation such as politics - diplomacy, defense - security, education, trade - investment, parliament and people-to-people exchange will be strengthened. At the same time, the two sides will expand to new directions of cooperation such as renewable energy, information and communication technology, digital transformation, green transformation, labor, etc. as well as strengthen coordination at international forums.

The important focus of the visit is to further strengthen cooperation between the two legislative bodies, especially in exchanging experiences in law-making and supervising the implementation of policies and laws. These activities are expected to promote the Vietnam-Hungary relationship to develop deeply and substantially, bringing concrete benefits to the people of the two countries, while actively contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region as well as on a global scale.
