She brings plastic bottles and jars to the "Green House" located in the residential area to raise funds to support women and children in difficult circumstances in the area.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Le Chan Ward, the locality currently maintains regular and effective operations of 7 “Green Houses”, with very active participation from cadres, members and people. The “Green House” model is a place to store recycled waste such as bottles, plastic jars, cans, etc. implemented by the Women's Union of residential groups, mobilizing people to participate. Although the action is small, it is meaningful, people form the habit of sorting waste at the source, as well as gradually create a green, civilized, friendly lifestyle, protect the environment and spread the spirit of kindness in the community.

As a tradition, every Saturday morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai in Residential Group 65, An Bien Ward gets up early with everyone to sweep the alleys, pull weeds, especially the areas along both sides of the railway line through the residential area. Ms. Mai happily shares: From ward officials, residential groups to residents, everyone enthusiastically participates, it's like morning exercise, and the streets and alleys are clean and beautiful.

Directly working with the people to clean up and encourage businesses to comply with regulations on sidewalk order, Chairwoman of An Bien Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Tinh informed: "Saturday with the people" is an opportunity for the ward's officials, civil servants, and public employees to regularly maintain activities to join hands in building An Bien ward bright, green, clean, beautiful, and civilized from the main streets, the center to every small alley. Thereby, the urban face of the ward changes, constantly improving the quality of life of the people in the area. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the ward's officials, civil servants, and public employees to talk, get closer and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people, especially regarding urban infrastructure and sidewalk order management. The movement has been maintained in order, up to now, 65 residential groups have classified household waste at the source; bundled and cleared hundreds of meters of cables on the main roads of the ward such as Tran Nguyen Han, Thien Loi, etc.

Determined to make a difference

Officials and people of An Bien ward participated in "Saturday with the people" cleaning up the railway area.

The localities located in the core area of the old central urban area in the East of the city all share the characteristics of high population density, traffic on many routes, busy main streets, with tens of thousands of households doing business and providing services on the street. In addition, some wards have many collective housing areas, apartments built decades ago, many small, long alleys... Therefore, the requirements for urban and environmental sanitation also need more concentrated and synchronous solutions.

In recent times, in order to create a clear change in the urban appearance, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations in many wards have launched and implemented many practical models and movements that have spread widely among the people. Along with that, local authorities regularly organize campaigns to ensure urban order and environmental sanitation and resolutely handle violations. For example, the An Bien Ward Police and the Ward's Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department have just coordinated to detect and promptly handle the case of Do Van Nam, in Kha Lam 4, Kien An Ward, driving a 15C-293.44 truck, who showed signs of dumping construction materials at the foot of Bui Vien Bridge. Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Le Chan Ward organized a general inspection and handling of violations of traffic order, roads, and sidewalks, especially in key areas such as the parking lot at 125 Nguyen Duc Canh Street, around Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, and the area along the railway line... Thereby, the ward reminded more than 1,200 cases, confiscated 52 items violating sidewalks, and removed more than 1,500 illegal advertising and classified ads on walls, tree roots, and electric poles.

The wards also focused on directing the implementation of site clearance for key projects that have been and are being implemented such as the Social Housing Area in Cau Rao 2 Urban Area, 110KV Power Line and Transformer Station, Flower Garden in the area of Niem Bridge Roundabout in An Bien Ward. Urban renovation construction including apartments combined with commercial and service centers in Le Chan Ward. Speeding up the site clearance progress and implementing the project will significantly change the urban appearance, making it more spacious and modern.

Recently, after inspecting a number of projects and listening to reports from representatives of departments, branches, units and localities, Mr. Le Anh Quan, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized: Projects in Le Chan and An Bien wards play an important role in urban beautification, improving infrastructure and improving people's lives. Relevant units need to uphold their sense of responsibility, coordinate closely, and take decisive action to ensure progress and quality, and soon put the projects into operation, contributing to changing the face of the city. This is also the desire of tens of thousands of local households.
