Xi met with the press together with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Xi said the six countries jointly signed the Xi'an Declaration of the China-Central Asia Summit, approved a list of outcomes of the summit and outlined a blueprint for the future development of China-Central Asia relations.
He noted that the six countries are determined to work together to overcome challenges and promote a closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
President Xi Jinping added that China and Central Asian countries will firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests such as sovereignty , independence, security and territorial integrity.
Mr. Xi affirmed that all parties will resolutely combat all forms of terrorism, separatism and extremism, as well as drug trafficking and transnational organized crime, and join hands to build a Central Asia free of conflict and lasting peace .
Xi and the leaders of the five Central Asian countries announced the decision to officially launch the China-Central Asia Summit Mechanism. The two sides will take turns hosting the summit every two years. Accordingly, the next summit will be held in Kazakhstan in 2025.
