VFF President meets again with Chinese Football Association President, U.23 Vietnam has very good news

The Vietnam U23 team is preparing for a very high-quality training tournament this coming November, meeting strong opponents U23 Korea, Uzbekistan and host U23 China. This tournament takes place right before the SEA Games and the AFC U23 Championship.

Valuable matches of U.23 Vietnam

This is the result of cooperation between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Chinese Football Association (CFA). Recently, CFA has regularly invited Vietnamese teams to train and compete in China. Notably, international friendly tournaments in China often bring together many strong teams in Asia. This time, the Vietnam U.23 team will have the opportunity to face the U.23 Korea, Uzbekistan and U.23 China in November, at the invitation of CFA.

During the AFC Executive Committee meeting in Saudi Arabia, the VFF President and CAF President met again. Both sides reaffirmed the important plan of U.23 Vietnam.

At the end of this year, the team led by coach Kim Sang-sik will prepare for the 33rd SEA Games (taking place in December 2025, in Thailand) and the U.23 Asian Finals (taking place from January 2026, in Saudi Arabia). Therefore, the matches with U.23 Korea, Uzbekistan and U.23 China will help the U.23 Vietnam players prepare enough offensive and defensive strategies, for the very important international tournaments for U.23 Vietnam at the end of this year and early next year.

Remember, before the 2025 Southeast Asian U.23 tournament, the Vietnam U.23 team also had a similar friendly tournament in China in March, with similar opponents. Through the tournament in March, center back Hieu Minh, midfielder Cong Phuong, Phi Hoang, striker Nguyen Ngoc My... have grown significantly, contributing greatly to the regional championship of Vietnam U.23.

According to experts, it is not easy for U.23 Vietnam to arrange matches with strong opponents like U.23 Korea or U.23 Uzbekistan. These are all top teams in the U.23 age group of Asian football. In particular, it is very difficult for these teams to appear at the same time in a friendly tournament. Therefore, U.23 Vietnam's match with the above teams in China in November is a very valuable match for coach Kim Sang-sik's team, right before the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U.23 Championship.

Therefore, the agreement reached by VFF with CFA is a very good sign for Vietnamese football, helping us have more quality playgrounds for national football teams.
