Prepare well the content for the 100th anniversary of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Festival and Vu Lan Thang Hoi Week in Cau Ke district

On the afternoon of June 6, comrade Le Thanh Binh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 100th Anniversary of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Festival and Vu Lan Thang Hoi Week in Cau Ke District, Tra Vinh Province in 2024 chaired a conference to listen to departments, branches and the People's Committee of Cau Ke District report on the progress of implementing activities of the 100th Anniversary of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Festival and Vu Lan Thang Hoi Week in Cau Ke District.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Nhien, Vice Chairman of Cau Ke District People's Committee reported on the progress of implementing the contents of the 100-year Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Festival under the district's responsibility.

At the meeting, the leaders of Cau Ke district informed that the district is focusing on handling the flooding at the District Stadium (where the Festival takes place); drafting a plan to ensure security and order and a plan to organize a culinary contest with the theme: Delicious dishes made from wax coconut (100 dishes). In coordination with Vicosap Company, the People's Committees of communes and towns organized a campaign to call on wax coconut production and trading households to register to participate in the contest.

At the same time, the District People's Committee issued a decision to establish the following sub-committees: Organization, Logistics, Security and Order, Content - Propaganda - Celebration, Order - Logistics - Reception...

Comrade Duong Hoang Sum noted to link the press conference with the content of the 100th anniversary of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Festival and the Vu Lan Thang Hoi Week of Cau Ke district. Draft the list of guests attending the opening ceremony; complete the script of the opening ceremony according to the contributions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Direct the subordinate units to prepare visual propaganda on billboards, posters, banners, flags... related to the activities of the Festival.

Comrade Le Van Dong, Deputy Director of Tra Vinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, informed about the organization of the workshop " Tra Vinh Wax Coconut - 100 years of formation and development".

The Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development approved a plan to coordinate with departments and branches to promote and organize fairs; introduce and promote trade fairs. Implement a plan to mobilize provinces with coconut trees; provide websites... Organize a workshop "Tra Vinh Wax Coconut - 100 years of formation and development" jointly implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Tra Vinh University; expected to have 220 delegates and 30 businesses/establishments related to the coconut industry in and outside the province.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Le Thanh Binh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, reminded the Organizing Committee to invite Consulates General of countries in Ho Chi Minh City to participate in promoting products to international customers.

In promoting agriculture and tourism, 04 sectors (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Science and Technology) need to unify the content of the workshop and announce the geographical indication of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut. For the presentations, they need to be close to the workshop and serve the socio-economic development of the province...
