Perhaps the project with the largest investment capital up to this point in Van Don special economic zone is the Van Don High-end Complex Tourism Service Project, which was approved by the Prime Minister on June 27, 2025. The project has a minimum investment capital of 2 billion USD. The project's operating period is no more than 70 years from the date the investor is granted the investment approval decision.

The project has an area of 244.45 hectares. The land use structure and boundaries of the functional areas of the land area for investment and construction (182.37 hectares) include: Casino land, resort hotel land, commercial and tourism service land and hotel, resort villa land, commercial and service land, tourism service land, public land, park land, trees, sports, school land, water surface, sandbank, parking lot land, forest land, technical infrastructure hub land, traffic land, other technical infrastructure implemented according to the construction planning of the high-class complex tourism service area in Van Don Economic Zone, Quang Ninh province approved according to the provisions of the law on construction.

Previously, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province also officially approved the results of the selection of investors to implement the Monbay Van Don high-end resort - entertainment complex, golf course and residential area project. According to this decision, Hai Dang Real Estate Investment Company Limited was selected as the winning investor.

The Monbay Van Don high-end resort, entertainment, golf course and residential complex project has a total investment capital of VND 24,883 billion (equivalent to USD 1 billion). The total land area used for the project is about 299.64 hectares; expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2030.

Recently, not only projects in Van Don special economic zone have received attention from investors, but also positive signals in the fields of aviation, tourism development and services. Recently, Sun PhuQuoc Airways has been officially licensed to operate air transport and its main operating center is expected to be located at Van Don International Airport.

With an investment scale of 2,500 billion VND, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will operate under a full service model combining charter - charter flights, targeting the high-quality passenger segment. The airline's main operating center in Van Don, Quang Ninh will promote regional connectivity, tourism connectivity and expand development opportunities, attracting investment for the locality. Currently, Van Don International Airport is ready to ensure conditions of synchronous facilities, infrastructure, and service quality for the new airline's operations here.

Good news after good news, welcoming new opportunities, Van Don International Airport and Crystal Holidays Holdings Joint Stock Company (under Everland Group) have just signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides will jointly develop integrated tourism - aviation product packages, organize commercial flights, international charters associated with accommodation, exploration and entertainment services in Van Don special economic zone and Bai Tu Long Bay; at the same time, build a closed experience journey from "in the air - under the sea - on the land" for tourists. The two sides will also coordinate to implement joint marketing and promotion campaigns, promotion programs, stimulus programs...
