In a TikTok video sharing 10 tips for better sleep, Dr. Azmain explains: Try putting socks in the freezer and wearing them before bed, cold feet will lower body temperature to help you sleep better.

You might say, "I can't believe it's hot and you're wearing socks to bed." But scientifically , this is true.

Wearing socks to bed can help lower your body temperature before bed, which is key to falling asleep, according to sleep science site Risescience .

What does the research say?

A 2018 Korean study asked participants to sleep with socks and without, and measured their sleep with a wearable device.

Try putting your socks in the freezer and wearing them before bed. Cold feet will lower your body temperature, helping you sleep better.

  • 7.6% higher sleep efficiency
