CNN believes that there is no dish more "humble" but loved all over the world than the sandwich. And because of that, exploring the world through sandwiches is like traveling around the earth.
To help travelers narrow down their sandwich choices when planning their next trip, CNN has selected the 25 best sandwiches in the world.
As for Vietnamese banh mi , CNN praised: Originating from France, the baguette has been recreated by the Vietnamese to their own taste. Banh mi is now sold at food carts on almost every street corner in Ho Chi Minh City and across Vietnam. Not only that, banh mi is also widely loved beyond the country's borders.

The classic version of the banh mi is filled with pork, pork sausage, shredded pickled carrots, pickled radish, herbs, mayonnaise and other ingredients. You can also find variations with tofu and lemongrass chicken. "It's crispy, fresh, rich and incredibly delicious," CNN notes.
The remaining list includes:
Pan Bagnat, France
Pan bagnat - a sandwich originating from Nice in the South of France, is a favourite. Cut in half (but not all the way through), the bread opens to reveal layers of raw vegetables, anchovies, olives, sliced hard-boiled eggs, tuna cubes, and generously sprinkled with salt and pepper.

Cuban sandwich, Cuba/America

Katsu sando, Japan
A deep-fried pork cutlet – pounded and breaded in panko, sandwiched in a fluffy white Japanese bread bun called shokupan – is the basis for this popular Japanese convenience store snack. Chivito, Uruguay
Although the name of this Uruguayan sandwich means “little goat,” there’s no meat from the ruminant at all, instead it’s made up of thinly sliced beef (called churrasco), ham, bacon, lettuce, mayonnaise, and melted mozzarella cheese. Piled high on a roll similar to a burger or ciabatta, the chivito is often topped with a fried egg—just to make sure you don’t leave hungry.

Iberian Jamon Bocadillo, Spain
This simple finger sandwich features some of the best jamón in the world, a premium Iberian ham from chestnut-fed pigs. The thinly sliced meat is piled high on crusty bread that is brushed or drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. Fresh tomatoes and perhaps some cheese can be added, but the ham is definitely the star of the dish.
