Typhoon Fung Wong is considered one of the most special storms to appear in the Northwest Pacific this year, right after Typhoon Kalmaegi. The storm is huge, about 1,400 km in diameter, reaching super typhoon intensity of level 15-16, gusts of level 18-19. Before entering the East Sea, on November 9, the storm swept through the Philippines, causing widespread heavy rain and forcing more than 1 million people to evacuate. It is forecasted that today (November 10), the storm will move northwest at a speed of 10-15 km/h, maintaining an intensity of level 13, gusts of level 16 in the North East Sea. From November 11, the storm will change direction to the northeast, then gradually move to the northeast. Around November 12, the storm will leave the East Sea, heading towards Taiwan (China) and will not affect mainland Vietnam.
Due to the impact of typhoon Fung-Wong, the sea area in the northeast of the East Sea has strong winds of level 8-10, near the storm center level 11-13, gusting to level 16; waves 5-8 m high, near the storm center 8-10 m, rough seas. Ships operating in the danger zone are at risk of encountering thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and big waves.
