Highway DH 34 is built with 2 lanes, convenient for people to travel and trade goods.
Road DH 34, the section connecting Enh intersection, Tan Minh commune to Doan Ket, Yen Hoa, Dong Ruong communes, is a very important traffic route. Previously, the route from Cao Son commune to Trung Thanh commune had not been opened, road DH 34 was the only route for these communes. Therefore, when the road was seriously degraded, traffic encountered many difficulties, even interrupted during the rainy and stormy season. But now, the highland has really changed because the road has been completed and put into use.
These days, the Da Bac highlands are flooded with the red flag with yellow star. Along both sides of Highway 34, the national flag flutters, with rows of flags made in a uniform manner. Highway 34 is now the most beautiful road in the Da Bac highlands. The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Cang hamlet, Doan Ket commune, has been settled here from the lowlands for 9 years. During that time, Ms. Hien has experienced all kinds of hardships since Highway 34 deteriorated.
"Traveling during the rainy season is extremely difficult and dangerous because of landslides and the road surface has been degraded for many years and has not been repaired. There was a period of nearly a month when my family could not import new goods because the vehicles could not get on. Therefore, when the new road was built, it was wide and beautiful, we were very excited," Ms. Hien shared.
Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Luong Van Thanh in Yen Hoa commune could not hide his excitement. In the days when he was still traveling on the old road, Mr. Thanh had many difficulties due to slippery and landslides. "When it rained, many muddy sections spilled onto the road, and motorbike riders fell over and over again. But work still had to be done," Mr. Thanh recalled. Now that the new road is paved with wide, sturdy concrete, he said it was as if he had been relieved of a burden that had been weighing on him for many years: "Having a new road like this will be very convenient in many ways. It will be easier to sell agricultural products, and the price of construction materials will not be as high as before. Especially, it ensures safety when traveling."
For the people in the highlands, when the road is repaired, hardened, and expanded, it is another door connecting to opportunities for livelihood and development. Ms. Luong Thi Thao, Enh hamlet, Tan Minh commune shared: "With the new road, people can do business more easily. Traveling between Tan Minh, Doan Ket, Yen Hoa or down to Dong Ruong is quick. We hope that in the future, other roads will also be invested in and expanded so that the highlands can truly change."
The joy does not stop at convenient travel. The newly opened road also brings about a boom in trade, increases the value of agricultural products and improves people's lives. Chairman of the People's Committee of Doan Ket Commune - Dinh Van Thu affirmed: "This is a route of special significance to Doan Ket Commune and neighboring highland communes. It is like a key to open the door to development for this land with many difficulties. People can easily transport agricultural products to the market, buy and sell construction materials, and reduce costs. Da Bac's agricultural products will have the opportunity to go further, and people's lives will gradually improve thanks to that."
During the construction process, the people of Doan Ket commune unanimously donated hectares of land and dismantled fences so that the road could be completed. Not only a traffic project, Route DH 34 is also a symbol of determination, aspiration to rise up and of dreams flying further and further from the heart of the Da Bac highlands.
