On May 15, Dak Lak Provincial Police issued a notice to increase vigilance against online scams targeting students and parents during the high school graduation exam season.
Police said that from May to June every year is when final year students intensify their review for exams, and it is also the time when scammers use many sophisticated tricks.
They use voice and image impersonation technology and create websites and messages that look like official agencies to commit fraud.

The goal of the subjects is not only to appropriate money but also to illegally collect personal data.
Common tricks include selling “real exam papers” and “100% accurate answers” through fake social media accounts. After victims transfer money, these accounts block communication or send worthless documents.
Scams also include offering "100% pass guarantee" exam preparation courses and inviting people to sign up for "fake" online courses to steal money.

Fraudsters also take advantage of parents' desire for their children to go to university, offering to "buy" a place in the school at a huge cost and then taking it.
There are also cases of impersonating university staff, contacting to complete the application. After that, the scammers report errors and ask for additional or transfer "completion fees". The subjects also ask to log in to strange links to collect personal information.
Police advise students and parents not to rely on "shortcuts" in exams. They need to secure personal information and be alert to unusual transactions.
If you encounter any suspicious information, please contact your homeroom teacher, school administration, or theeducation agency hotline directly for verification. If in doubt, immediately notify the nearest police station for assistance.
