Thailand secured a thrilling 3-2 win over hosts China in the semi-finals of the Asian Women's Futsal Championship. They will face the winner of the Iran-Japan match in the final of the tournament.

The "War Elephants" are on the verge of winning the Asian women's futsal championship for the first time. Iran have won both previous editions of the tournament.
Not only that, coach Tanatorn Santanaprasit's team also won the first ticket in Asia to participate in the first women's futsal World Cup in history.
Before the Thai women's futsal team played, FAT President Madam Pang wished the team to make history. After the team completed their mission, the Iron Lady spent 1.5 million baht (about 1.1 billion VND) to reward the team. According to Thai press, if the Thai women's futsal team wins the tournament, they will also receive a huge bonus from Madam Pang.

Many people praised Madam Pang's move in the context of FAT's financial difficulties when the agency had to compensate 360 million baht (about 272 billion VND) to Siam Sport. In the past, the head of Thai football has been running around to find money to help FAT overcome difficulties. Madam Pang even used her own money, 25 million baht (equivalent to 20 billion VND) to deposit for Siam Sport, to avoid FAT's assets being frozen.
Speaking after making history with the Thai women's futsal team, coach Tanatorn Santanaprasit said: "I am very proud of the players. We were under a lot of pressure going into this match. I told the players to relax and follow the plan.
At halftime, I urged the players to stay calm and confident even when the team was down a man. The team needed to wait for the right moment to attack."
